We're past the half-way point of the January transfer window
and it could be a busy fortnight for Scottish clubs.
Celtic have already landed Polish striker Patryk Klimala
in a £3.5m deal, but their business isn't over yet as they are close to signing

Premiership champions are still looking to resolve some issues before the deal

Benkovic transfer warning
Phlip Cocu has warned Leicester City the time is now to do a
deal to bring Filip Benkovic to Derby County.
The Dutchman is keen on the former Celtic loan but admits the
Rams are running out of time to come to an agreement.

always have more than one target, of course.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers revealed last summer he viewed
Celtic as the perfect option for Benkovic to continue his development but no
deal has been forthcoming.
The Croatia international has been limited to just one senior

Leicester braced for Chilwell exit
Leicester is ‘braced’ for Ben Chilwell to leave the club in
the summer as Chelsea target the highly-rated left-back.
The Daily Mail claims that Frank Lampard’s side is willing to
wait until the end of the season to make their move for the England
international.
And Brendan Rodgers is preparing for life without him as the
same report suggests they have lined up a replacement in Southampton’s Ryan
Bertrand.
United wait on Bruno
Bruno Fernandes’ move to Manchester United remains up in the
air despite the Sporting Lisbon star agreeing on personal terms over a switch
to Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder is still expected to
complete a switch to England during the January transfer window but both clubs
remained locked in signing talks.
Sporting Lisbon wants £65m for a player but reports in Portugal
claim United are offering a £42m upfront with add-ons which could land Lisbon
£68m.
But the Primeira Liga big-hitters are insisting on at least
£55m upfront which leaves a £13m discrepancy as things currently stand.
Inter Milan make opening Eriksen offer
Inter Milan have reportedly made an opening offer to Spurs
for Christian Eriksen.
The midfielder has made it clear he will not be signing a new
deal with the Premier League side when his contract expires in the summer.
That means he could leave for free as Tottenham look to agree
on a fee with the Italian side for him to leave in January.
McCall explains Rudden deal
Ian McCall insists he isn’t worried about any clauses in Zak
Rudden’s Partick Thistle contract.
Thistle paid an undisclosed fee for the former Falkirk
loanee and will be hoping he can fire them up the table.
Clubs abroad often have ‘buyback’ clauses in their deals when
they let a highly-rated youth player go and it appears like Rangers have done
the same.
McCall admits he’s just delighted to land the striker who
starred with Falkirk.
It’s a really really exciting signing,
It was a kind of nominal fee with various things to do with
Rangers, we’re delighted he’s here and we think our fans will love him.
There are a couple of things in it, yeah. I think it’s a
pretty normal thing, particularly the sell-on, I think we’ve got that with
[Liam] Lindsay and [Aidan] Fitzpatrick, who went to Norwich City.
I think there is some sort of clause in it, but that doesn’t
trigger for 18 months or so. We’re very comfortable with the deal and so are
Rangers and so is the boy.
Ultimately, the deal will not matter unless he does really
well. So, if he does really well for us, and then it clicks in, then we’ve all
been winners.”
