Premier League: Solskjaer orders Manchester United staff to find solution as boss struggles laid bare

Manchester United has struggled to defeat the Premier League’s lesser sides this season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the worst win-rate at Old Trafford of any permanent Manchester United boss in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
The Norwegian chief has won just 53.3 percent of his home matches since taking over as a caretaker in December 2018. Football fans from around the world can purchase Premier League Football Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
That record is worse than all of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Mourinho as the cracks continue to show. Moyes lasted less than a season at Manchester United after Ferguson but even he mustered a win-rate of 56 percent on home turf.

Mourinho is miles above both of them at 65.2 percent but the top spot goes to Van Gaal at 66 percent. The record will be a real worry for Solskjaer who is under ever-increasing pressure at Manchester United.
The former Molde and Cardiff boss 46 got off to a roaring start after taking over from Mourinho on an interim basis. But after being given the job permanently in March 2019, United's form fell off a cliff.

Manchester United Premier League review

The Red Devils have won just eight times, home or away in their 21 Premier League matches this term. They sit a staggering 27 points behind arch-rivals Liverpool in the league, something that would have been unthinkable under Fergie.
Manchester United's next game will be at home as they take on bottom-of-the-league Norwich. Solskjaer arguably would not have a better chance to boost his paltry winning record at home.
A victory on Saturday would see his percentage take a minor bump up to 54.8 percent, still behind Moyes and Co.
In the wake of Manchester United's dreadful run of form, Solskjaer has revealed ALL of his squad are under the microscope and are now playing for their futures.
With 10 players out of contract between now and the summer of 2021, they ought to heed that warning sooner rather than later.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring in a sports psychologist to improve his players’ mentality against lesser sides. Manchester United has lost to relegation candidates Crystal Palace, West Ham, Newcastle, Bournemouth, and Watford in the league this season.
The Norwegian coach has become disillusioned with his side’s inability to turn up against smaller clubs, with Manchester United’s complacency leaving them six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea albeit with one game in hand.
Manchester United have performed surprisingly well against the top-six outfits, registering wins against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham, but Solskjaer is desperate to have the best of both worlds.

The Sun report

According to The Sun, Manchester United boss instructed staff to find the best sports psychologist they can to remedy the side's woes against bottom-half opposition.
Solskjaer has accepted that he has been unable to inspire his players to prepare mentally in the same manner for games not on the grand stage and is now open to outside help.
Manchester United’s next Premier League test comes against 14th-placed Burnley at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and Solskjaer will be keeping a close on which players turn up for the occasion.
The Red Devils have drawn their last three home games against the Clarets with Victor Lindelof’s injury-time equalizer salvaging a 2-2 draw last term. Burnley head into the game off the back of a shock 2-1 win over Leicester on Sunday, before which they had lost four successive top-flight games.
Solskjaer is aware of the task facing his side and believes Manchester United will need to graft hard to earn three points.

Solskjaer saying

"We played them two or three weeks ago," the 46-year-old said. "We had to work hard to get the points. We played well, we defended well, and, every time we play against Sean Dyche’s team, we know we have to earn it.
“He is Dyche doing fantastic, I have to say. That is all I can say.”
We can talk about resources and his players; we can talk about us being stretched, that we are missing players now. Of course, he is missing the injured Ashley Barnes and they have got players that can come in.

Looking back to the mettle his side showed last season in the 2-2 draw, Solskjaer added: Last season here was the first time I saw the players coming back from a setback.
We were 2-0 down with seven or eight minutes to go, we got back into the game with 2-2, so we are going to approach this game as we would do if they had won five in a row. They will always give you a tough game.
