Premier League: Liverpool's Squad Value Has Increased From £360 Million To £1.83 Billion Under Jurgen Klopp

Reds squad value has increased by over 500% since Klopp took over - growing from £360 million to £1.83 billion. Per Daily Mirror, Forbes has revealed the value of Liverpool's squad has skyrocketed since the German's appointment. Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015 and inherited an underwhelming squad. However, he and sporting director Michael Edwards have managed to build one of the best teams in the world five years on.
It's also been done sensibly, with the Merseyside outfit's net spend working out between £80 and £90 million. They have maximized profits from the sales of squad players such as Jordan Ibe and Dominic Solanki while making a hefty £142m from the sale of Phillipe Coutinho.
The money has been reinvested sensibly, with a wide array of players being bought for cheap and improved massively. Andy Robertson was signed from recently relegated Hull City in 2017 for £8 million and he's arguably grown into one of the world's best full-backs.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is also another player to benefit from Klopp's coaching, with the transfer market rating the 21-year-old at £99 million.
Liverpool has received praise for their results this season, but Sky Sports pundit and Reds legend Jamie Carragher believes Klopp deserves more credit for his coaching ability.
Carragher told Daily Mirror
"Liverpool isn't buying superstars, they're making superstars," Carragher told Daily Mirror. "Klopp doesn't get enough credit for that.
"That's where Klopp doesn't get near enough credit as a coach," the 41-year-old explained. Liverpool is not going to the best clubs in the world and buying their best players. And it's not that Liverpool is buying players with a special ability that nobody else can see."
Liverpool is currently 14 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League and welcomes bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday. United are the only team to take points off Liverpool this season, in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in October.
