Premier League: Graham Potter impressed by job Frank Lampard has done at Chelsea

Brighton head coach Graham Potter continues to be impressed by Frank Lampard ahead of doing battle with him and Chelsea on New Year’s Day.
The pair faced off last season in the Championship when they were in charge of Swansea and Derby respectively and also earlier this campaign at Stamford Bridge. Football fans from around the world can purchase Premier League Football Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Potter is yet to beat Lampard after Derby claimed four points last term while Chelsea edged out Brighton 2-0 in September and is full of admiration for the former England midfielder.

After replacing Maurizio Sari in July the Blues’ all-time record goalscorer has introduced a number of youngsters into the team guided them up to fourth in the Premier League as well as into the Champions League round of 16 and all while under a transfer embargo last summer.

Potter saying about Chelsea Frank Lampard

“He has done a really good job. I like him a lot. I was impressed at Derby and I’m impressed again at Chelsea,” Potter said.
“To manage the situation he has inherited in terms of the embargo and to deal with that in the positive way they have with young players and to be flexible in his approach in how to play and compete at the top end of the Premier League and go through in the Champions League he has done really well.”
Brighton will not feel intimidated ahead of facing Chelsea having enjoyed a strong December with wins over Arsenal and Bournemouth.
He said I cannot comment on any change in mentality against certain opposition from previous times because I was not here but we try to go into every game with a mentality and belief that we can get something.
You just have to try and implement what you want to do during the game while also understanding that the opposition was not to do the same.
We just have to keep doing our best. The top six sides in this league are at a different level historically that is a fact. But you should never go onto a pitch thinking you have got no chance.

We have to understand that Chelsea will come with a good side. They are a top team who are in the Champions League so that is the challenge facing us.

Aaron Mooy role in previous games

Aaron Mooy played a key role in both victories with the Australian firmly settled at the Amex Stadium after a season-long loan move from Huddersfield in August.
Potter refused to discuss his long-term future but insisted he was merely content to know the 29-year-old is happy with the Seagulls.
As I have said before he is a loan player he is not our player the 44-year-old added. He is Huddersfield’s player.
We understand we have him for the full season so there is no stress and no pressure. The most important thing is Aaron is enjoying his football and we are happy with him.
He is improving and developing and that is the most important thing and everything else is just talk and speculation.

The Brighton boss is also unsure how busy the club will be in the winter transfer window which opens on Wednesday.

Potter Interview

Former Ostersunds manager Potter said: “As a collective, we can improve in all the areas and we need to do that but I would rather focus on the guys we have here and help them improve because I do not think they are at their maximum.
“I’m not sitting here thinking we have got the most out of this group of players so there is no desperate need to do anything.”
I really enjoy working with the players I enjoy what we are trying to do and as I have indicated before we are not perfect and there is no guarantee with results but I am happy with their daily approach and work and happy for it to continue.
Potter will be familiar with Chelsea's Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount from last season when his Swansea City team played Frank Lampard's former club Derby County in the Championship.
The pair has featured heavily for Lampard’s side this term and the Albion Head Coach says their input in the first half of the season has not surprised him.

I really liked them when we played against them with Swansea last season, Potter added. “Credit has to go to Frank Lampard for integrating them into the group. Chelsea wants to push on in the league and progress in Europe and that is not easy. They have done a great job.
The Championship is a different level of competition but you could see that they could use their attributes in the Premier League.

Premier League transfer updates: Liverpool have ideal replacement for Virgil van Dijk in Joe Gomez

The Reds will face an incredibly difficult task over the next few years as they’ll need to replace Van Dijk. That’s not as simple as finding a top defender, of course. Football devotees around the world can obtain Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its superb performances.

Van Dijk does tick nearly every box for a top defender, though. His positional sense is brilliant, as is his decision making. He’s nearly impossible to dribble past and he’s unbeatable in the air.
But he also offers far more than that.
Because Van Dijk offers so much for Liverpool’s playing style. There’s his ability on the ball, allowing Liverpool to pass out from the back and utilize him as a passing outlet on his own. His athleticism, allowing Liverpool to play very high up the pitch and take more risks with opposition counters.
Those two attributes are what makes Van Dijk truly stand out. They’re rare talents that clubs at the top strive for usually making sacrifices in the rest of the player’s game.
But Gomez already offers both of those things. He’s very capable on the ball, able to take on defenders and pass forward, while he may even be quicker than Van Dijk.
This isn’t to say that Gomez will ever be as good as Van Dijk. As with any elite player, his replacement will almost certainly be weaker than him. But Gomez can fill the inevitable void in Liverpool’s style.
The hope is that the Englishman, still only 22, will develop in the more traditional areas of a defender. He’s hardly lacking but he’s not quite at the elite level yet, sometimes lacking consistency.
But give him game time and a few more years and there’s no reason Gomez won’t be at the top. He may never quite be Van Dijk, but he should be the ablest replacement for Liverpool’s defensive talisman.

Premier League: Manchester United blow as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave Scott McTominay injury update
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an update on Scott McTominaay's knee injury confessing that the midfielder might be out of action for up to a month.
McTominay left Old Trafford on sticks after Manchester United's overwhelming 4-1 victory over Newcastle with Solskjaer confirming the problem was knee-related. Football fans can book Premier League Football Tickets on our website on exclusively discounted prices.
Supporters feared that the 23-year-old could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines but his manager has allayed those fears and confirmed that it will be weeks rather than months.

Red Devils have suffered a blow with midfielder Scott McTominay reportedly set to be out for up to eight weeks.
McTominay, who has been one of Manchester United's most consistent players this season sustained a knee injury in the Red Devils' win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had hoped McTominay's injury would not sideline him for more than four weeks.

Manchester United Medical Staff report

However, Manchester United's medical staff has said the 23-year-old could be out for up to eight weeks after scans confirmed injured knee ligaments according to the Daily Mail.
That would rule the Scotland international out of Man Utd's two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City as well as the visit to Anfield to face runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool on January 19.
Nemanja Matic stood in for his club-mate in Man Utd's win at Burnley on Saturday and McTominay's injury could offer him a chance to impress, with the Serb having been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after limited playing time under Solskjaer.
Paul Pogba was also missing from Manchester United's midfield on Saturday after complaining of a reaction to a foot injury that had kept him out for three months before the Newcastle game. Solskjaer will hope the 26-year-old is fit for the New Year's Day visit to Arsenal.

Solskjaer Saying about Manchester United central midfielder

Solskjaer said: “I would not expect him to be back in the next couple of weeks. I do not think we will see him.
“He has proven before that if you give him three weeks he is back in two. So, I do not know.
It might be three or four weeks. We have just got to find a way through it.”
Man Utd has received some good news, though, after Pogba's agent Mino Raiola said the World Cup winner would not leave Man Utd in January.
Yet speaking on Monday, Raiola said: I do not think it is fair on the boys at all, he said. I do not think it is fair to be expected to perform at the top of your level both mentally and physically 48 hours after you have played.

Two games in three days are possible just once in a while but not when it is as tight as this. But I’m captivated with everybody in the dressing room and the way they have all looked after themselves.
That is why they could stay at home last night. There was no fact of residing in a hotel because I trust them.

Premier League Updates: Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool midfielder to sign a one-year contract

Lallana’s contract at Liverpool expires come to the end of the 2019-20 season, which means he will be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer. Football devotees around the world can obtain Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its superb performances.
However, despite Klopp accepting he will lose Lallana come to the end of the campaign, he still wants the Englishman to sign a one-year deal at Liverpool, as he believes Lallana still has plenty to offer.

Lallana can discuss and agree with terms with other clubs from today, which will then see him join his chosen club in six months’ time. It would make sense for Liverpool to try and convince Lallana to sign a new deal. He has been quite a handy squad player this season.
His most notable achievement was the equalizer in the 1-1 Premier League draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October. Lallana will ultimately have the option of staying at Anfield and competing for trophies or move to a new club and start in more matches.
It does appear unlikely that Lallana will sign a new deal, as he is only six months away from being able to depart the club. Despite all this, is the commitment in regards to Liverpool winning the Premier League this season is clearly there to be seen.
Lallana Interview
Lallana told Liverpoolfc.com the following after featuring in the Reds’ 1-0 Premier League victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield last weekend: “It’s a squad game and I’ve said before that we’re going to need everybody.
“We’ve got a limited injury at the time being and three or four kids on the form, it’s a great experience for them being involved and so close to what’s been a special season so far. We can’t take our foot off the gas. We’ve got a couple of huge games at home in the next week Sheffield United, who have had a fantastic season, and then the race in the cup.”
“It’s important we improve because we’ve had a few injuries and it’s important that we get everybody back fit as quickly as possible. We want to maintain that form going into the New Year and keep Anfield a fortress.”
Lallana clearly would still like to be playing football on a regular basis, which is currently not the case at Anfield as of right now. Liverpool is so strong in midfield, which does make it too difficult for Lallana to get the minutes he would like. A move away from Anfield would be seen as appropriate for him.

Premier League: Jadon Sancho keen on speaking to Manchester United as Dortmund accept England star will leave this summer

Manchester United are self-confident of beating Premier League competitors Liverpool and Chelsea to the winger’s sign but face competition from all of their main national rivals as well as Spanish monsters Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho is interested in speaking to Manchester United about a mega-money return to the Premier League.  Football fans from around the world can purchase Premier League Football Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

BBC Report

While Dortmund has previously knocked back all methodologies for the England international their bearing is possible to have changed following the procurement of Haaland according to the BBC. Dortmund landed Norway international Haaland for a comparative snip at £17.1m and beat Manchester United and Juventus to his signature.
He said after completing a move: “There was a feeling right from the start that I wanted to switch to this club, go this route, and play football in this incredible Dortmund atmosphere in front of more than 80,000 spectators. I’m already burning for it.”
The England international swapped England for Germany in 2017 when he left Manchester City for Bundesliga giants Dortmund.  The city did all they could to convince Sancho to stay but the lure of first-team football was too much to turn down for the London-born winger and he has thrived in Germany ever since.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified Sancho as a priority target early in his reign as interim boss at Old Trafford but Man Utd’s failure to qualify for the Champions League this season ended their hopes of signing him last summer.
However, the Times claim that Sancho is keen on a return to the Premier League at the end of the season and wants to speak to Man Utd about their interest. Dortmund for their part accepts that Sancho's time to leave is approaching and he will have just two years left on his deal at the end of the season.

Bundesliga Sancho winger huge profit

The Bundesliga club value Sancho at over £100m and they stand to make a huge profit on the winger. Real Madrid and Barcelona are both admirers of Sancho and the winger is intrigued by a move to Spain but a return to the Premier League appears more likely.

Dortmund announced the signing of Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland on Sunday after beating Manchester United to the teenager’s signature. The Red Devils were unwilling to meet the demands of Haaland’s agent after they insisted that a £42.5m buyout clause must be inserted in the striker’s deal.
Solskjaer is desperate to add more firepower to his squad and could turn to Lyon’s Moussa Dembele in January to bolster his frontline.

Haaland, who has joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Leipzig, was a target for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But United withdrew from the race to sign the 19-year-old striker amid concerns how much money for the deal was going to Haaland‘an agent, Mino Raiola, and the player’s father.

Those concerns overpayments and the terms of the deal forced United to back off, leaving the way clear for Dortmund to sign the highly-rated forward, who has eight goals in six Champions League games this season.
David Moyes appointed at West Ham
David Moyes has been appointed as manager of West Ham a year-and-a-half after his departure from the club in May 2018.
The Scot was originally brought in on a short-term basis to save the Irons from relegation following the reign of Slaven Bilic.
He will now take on the same challenge again following a dramatic loss of form under ex-Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Haaland deal could give Chelsea boost
Borussia Dortmund could now be set to cash in on Jadon Sancho after securing Erling Haaland.
Dortmund, who confirmed the capture of Haaland for a relative snip at £17.1m on Sunday afternoon, beat United and Juventus to the forward’s signature.
And now according to the BBC, the German outfit is set to change their transfer stance on the England international placing the Blues on alert.

Premier League updates: Klopp orders detailed reports on 13-goal Liverpool-linked star

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ordered his scouts to provide detailed reports on Lille star Victor Osimhen, according to the Express. Football devotees around the world can obtain Premier League Tickets  online to enjoy its superb performances.
The 21-year-old Nigerian joined Lille in the summer and has been a hit at the Ligue 1 side. The forward has scored 13 goals and provided three assists for Les Dogues this season already.

He scored 20 goals for Belgian side Charleroi, on loan from Wolfsburg, last season and has nonstop in the same rich vein of form in this campaign. Klopp is looking to boost his striking options particularly as Mohamed Salah isn’t as fatal in front of goal as he was two seasons ago.
Salah, who has been linked with Real Madrid scored 44 goals in his first season at Anfield then 27 in all races last season and has achieved 13 so far in this campaign.
Lille uninterested in selling star now
The French club knows that they will have to cash in on the rising star, however, they want to keep hold of Osimhen till the end of the season.
Lille already made big money by selling Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal at the start of this season. The Ivorian has been below par at the Gunners in this campaign.
Liverpool, for their part, has been incredible but could use more options in the attack. Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi have done well when given chances by Klopp.
Salah might not be scoring goals regularly, but he still is a danger to the opposition and creates chances for our other forwards. The Reds lead the Premier League by a massive 10 points from Leicester City and have two games in hand.

Premier League: £17m deal gives Frank Lampard transfer boost, Jorginho message

Chelsea came back from a goal down to beat Arsenal 2-1 as Frank Lampard's side inflicted Mikel Arteta's first defeat as Gunners' head coach. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's first-half header had given Arsenal the lead, an advantage the north London side held until the last 10 minutes of the game.
But goals from Jorginho and Tammy Abraham ensured the Blues bounced back in style from their shock Boxing Day defeat to Southampton. Football fans can book Premier League Football Tickets on our website on exclusively discounted prices.

Frank Lampard's press conference transcript

Here is every word Frank Lampard had to say after the game including the comeback itself Jorginho's luck and the Emerson substitution.
I do not think we got it wrong because when you go and play as you did at Tottenham last week I would have questioned my sanity if I came to Arsenal played four at the back and it went that way in the first half.
For me, the main thing in the first half an hour was not the tactics. It was the spirit, the fight of the team. They were quicker. We were lethargic. They were brave. We were not we were nervous. That was the main thing.
I could have made the changes after 10 minutes and that is not Emerson that is probably any of the players to change it slightly because it is hard to convey a message with your voice on the sidelines in this atmosphere. Sometimes it has to be a gesture. We changed and it got better.
It was not so much the three but Mikel Arteta is not silly. He saw us play well at Tottenham and he found a way to pin our five back. We had three men marks one at the back. They had numbers in midfield and won all the second balls. It had to change.
I do not think we can get to where we want to be without aggression. People can talk about us dominating having the majority of possession in every game we have played in the Premier League this season. That is a lovely thing, a great stat that looks good.

Jorginho on sending off

Jorginho believes referee Craig Pawson made the right call in not showing him a second yellow card against Arsenal. The Chelsea midfielder hauled down Matteo Guendouzi in the middle of the pitch and although Pawson awarded the Gunners a free-kick he opted against given the former Napoli man his marching orders.
Arsenal’s players were left incensed by the decision with Alexander Lacazette receiving a booking for his reaction to the call. And then things were made even worse for Mikel Arteta’s side when Jorginho scored Chelsea’s equalizer at the Emirates.

Liverpool mathematical chances of Premier League glory revealed after matching Man City half-season

All the data shows that, barring an unprecedented collapse, Liverpool will win the Premier League title. It just gets better and better for Liverpool in the Premier League. Football devotees around the world can obtain Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its superb performances.

The Reds were set to face one of their toughest tests of the season at Anfield on Sunday, but in the end, Jurgen Klopp's side coolly navigated themselves to another three precious points.
A Roberto Firmino double, as well as a James Milner penalty and a fourth from Man of the Match Trent Alexander-Arnold, saw Klopp’s side eased to a 4-0 win on Thursday night against Leicester, while here, all it took was a single Sadio Mane first-half strike.
The Reds are now 19 Premier League matches unbeaten so far this season and, as a result, talk is quickly switching to you know what. The words no Liverpool fan wants to utter or start to tempt fate by suggesting.
But it is simply too hard to ignore what is potentially stirring Liverpool fans in the face. Following Sunday's victory, the Reds, according to renowned statistics website FiveThirtyEight, now have a 96 percent chance of winning this year’s Premier League title. A quite remarkable statistic when you consider we are not even in the year 2020 yet.
However, while the statistical breakdown makes pleasant reading for the Reds, the number of points Klopp’s men are on course to achieve seems somewhat conservative. According to the estimation made by the database company, Liverpool will finish on 98 points, a point more than they did last season.
This seems incredibly low, especially given the Reds still have 57 points to play for this season and currently sit on 55. And on the evidence, we have witnessed so far, it is hard to see who is capable of stopping this simply flawless machine.
Former Man City manager Stuart Pearce
Granted, former Man City manager Stuart Pearce suggested one reason Liverpool won’t go the season unbeaten is that Klopp may look to change things around once the title was secured. But when you consider the manner in which a much-changed Reds outfit coolly dispatched Everton at Anfield earlier this month, that claim has many flaws.
There is some good news for Manchester City fans, though. Pep Guardiola’s side is being backed to finish with a better goal difference than the Reds. Some Liverpool fans may not want to talk about winning the title or even start to tempt fate. But on this evidence, the reality is simply too hard to ignore.
