Paul Pogba is due to
play again for Man United in 2019 but has suffered another setback and time off
has been described as not beneficial. Paul Pogba's
Manchester United return could be further delayed due to illness
and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggested the Frenchman's time off has set
him back.
Pogba has only played
six times this term after distress ankle damage in the draw at Southampton on August
31. Football fans from around the world

He returned for the
League Cup third-round tie with Rochdale on September 25 and lined up against
Arsenal five days later but has not appeared since.
Pogba attended his
brother Florentin's wedding in Bussy-Saint-Georges Paris, on Friday, having
spent time in Dubai at the start of October and Miami last month. The MEN
understands Pogba had permission to travel to France but hours after Solskjaer
said Pogba had been 'struck down ill' the World Cup winner uploaded several
clips of him dancing at his sibling's reception.
Solskjaer last week
predicted Pogba would return to full training before the trip to Watford on
Sunday and Pogba told photographers on Monday he hoped to be backing soon.
"Of all things he is struck down ill
now," Solskjaer said after the Everton game on Sunday. "He is been
off for two or three days probably so that is not beneficial. That
is probably set him back quite a bit."
Solskjaer has
repeatedly stressed Pogba will play again before the end of the year but his
prolonged absence could raise further questions about his United future.
Planning For a midfielder
United are expected to
recruit at least one midfielder across the next two transfer windows having
missed out on one in the summer amid interest in Sean Longstaff. Nemanja Matic
is open to leaving in the New Year and if he stays beyond the winter window
could be released in the summer.
The midfield
progression plan for Pogba has possibly initiated with the corporation of Scott
McTominay and Fred. The latter has started the last 10 Premier
League games and McTominay has only missed two through
injury.
Solskjaer is publicly
refusing to envisage a United without Pogba though. "As I have said so
many times Paul's a top top player that we want to see playing his best
football at Man United. We just need to get him fit and match-fit. It might be
half-an-hour, 45, 60, and 90 who knows in the first game. We are working hard
to get him back but now he is ill. "
We can talk about Paul
all day long and it is games like Everton for example when you are lacking
that one creative pass or ideas maybe. He has that quality that not many
midfielders in the world have, so to get him back would be great.
