Premier League: Chelsea updates, £27m Timo Werner dive,
Isco makes decision
The 23-year-old is
enjoying an impressive season for his German club finding the back of the net
on 21 occasions in 23 appearances in all competitions. It was another afternoon
of frustration for Chelsea as they fell to a fifth Premier League
defeat in seven matches after losing at home to Southampton.
Despite Sunday's
impressive 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur the Blues struggled against their
relegation-threatened opponents and were once again beaten at Stamford Bridge.

After this result, it
serves another reminder that Lampard will need to bolster the Chelsea squad in
the January transfer window.
Chelsea prepare Werner swoop
Chelsea is to turn to
Timo Werner to offer competition for Tammy Abrhahm when the January transfer
window opens. Werner has scored 18 goals in 17 matches for Red Bull Leipzig
this season and the German international is wanted by a host of clubs across
Europe.
According to the Express, that
list also includes Chelsea who is set to trigger his release clause currently
priced at £27m. Werner will offer genuine competition for Abraham as the club's
number nine, which could also pave the way for Olivier Giroud to leave.
Werner's goal against
Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday means that he has now scored in each of his last
six league appearances with his Bundesliga record this term standing at 16 strikes
in 15 outings.
Isco makes Chelsea transfer decision
ISCO has snubbed a shift
to Chelsea because the Real Madrid star is holding out on a transfer to
Manchester City according to reports. Lampard has spoken about Chelsea's need
to replace Eden Hazard's goals and creativity ahead of the transfer window.
One man who could do
just that is Real Madrid playmaker Isco and he has been heavily linked with a
move to Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard has been out of favor at the Bernabeu
since the return of Zinedine Zidane and looks set to move away from the club.
According to Spanish
outlet Eldesmarque, however, Isco has ruled out a move to Chelsea
and is instead holding out to join Manchester City with David Silva set to
leave Pep Guardiola's side at the end of the season.
Speaking last month the
French manager said: “I know Isco very well and I know that when it is his turn
to play he performs very well.
“He shows the
personality that he has."
Chelsea eye double PSG
raid
Chelsea has set their
sights on bringing Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye to the club in January. Draxler's
contract with PSG runs until 2021. The 26-year-old who has spent a large part
of the 2019/20 campaign on the sidelines with a foot injury has made eight
appearances this season so far.
Draxler would add some
much-needed creativity to the Blues midfield and could be swayed to move to
London for more regular playing time.
Despite Gueye star only
joining PSG in the summer from Everton he is also a transfer target for Lampard
according to Le10Sport.
