Solskjaer gave Scott McTominay injury update
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
has given an update on Scott McTominaay's knee injury confessing that the
midfielder might be out of action for up to a month.

Supporters feared that
the 23-year-old could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines but his
manager has allayed those fears and confirmed that it will be weeks rather than
months.
Red Devils have suffered
a blow with midfielder Scott McTominay reportedly set to be out for
up to eight weeks.
McTominay, who has been
one of Manchester United's most consistent players this season sustained a
knee injury in the Red Devils' win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.
Manchester United boss
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had hoped McTominay's injury would not sideline him for
more than four weeks.
Manchester United Medical Staff report
However, Manchester
United's medical staff has said the 23-year-old could be out for up to eight
weeks after scans confirmed injured knee ligaments according to the Daily Mail.
That would rule the
Scotland international out of Man Utd's two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final
against Manchester City as well as the visit to Anfield to face
runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool on January 19.
Nemanja Matic stood in
for his club-mate in Man Utd's win at Burnley on Saturday and
McTominay's injury could offer him a chance to impress, with the Serb having
been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after limited playing time under
Solskjaer.
Paul Pogba was also
missing from Manchester United's midfield on Saturday after complaining of a reaction
to a foot injury that had kept him out for three months before the Newcastle
game. Solskjaer will hope the 26-year-old is fit for the New Year's Day visit
to Arsenal.
Solskjaer Saying about Manchester United
central midfielder
Solskjaer said: “I
would not expect him to be back in the next couple of weeks. I do not think we
will see him.
“He has proven before
that if you give him three weeks he is back in two. So, I do not know.
It might be three or
four weeks. We have just got to find a way through it.”
Man Utd has received
some good news, though, after Pogba's agent Mino Raiola said the World Cup
winner would not leave Man Utd in January.
Yet speaking on Monday,
Raiola said: I do not think it is fair on the boys at all, he said. I do not
think it is fair to be expected to perform at the top of your level both
mentally and physically 48 hours after you have played.
Two games in three days
are possible just once in a while but not when it is as tight as this. But I’m captivated
with everybody in the dressing room and the way they have all looked after
themselves.
That is why they could
stay at home last night. There was no fact of residing in a hotel because I
trust them.
