Chelsea goes
into the game one point and one place forward of City in the Premier League
table with the Blues presently on a six-game winning line.
But
will they encompass that to seven this weekend?
Ahead
of the game, we take a gaze at the latest Chelsea update forward of the game.
Frank Lampard's big decisions
There
is a pair of decisions to be completed by Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard when
it arises to his team choice for the game against Manchester City.
One
of those is on the health of Christian Pulisic who was lined out of the USA
games throughout the international break with a hip damage.
The
American has been in fine form for the Blues in recent weeks with five goals in
the Premier League.
But
with Pulisic considered a doubt for tomorrow's game at the Etihad Stadium,
Lampard faces a big decision over whether or not to include him or who should
replace him if he is not fit enough.
Pushing
Mason Mount further forward is an option for Lampard while Cullum Hudson Odoi will
also be hoping for a chance after coming off the bench in recent weeks for
Chelsea.
This
is not the only big decision for Lampard though, with the Chelsea head coach
having to decide whether or not to keep Reece James at right-back or whether
the more experienced Cesar Azpilicueta would be a better option against
Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho's message for Mason Mount
Mason
Mount may be in Chelsea's first squad now but it has been a long journey over
the positions for the 20-year-old.
Mount
has been with the Blues since the age of six growing through the positions at
different age groups within the academy before spending time on loan at Vitesse
Arnhem and Derby County earlier to his innovation in the first team at Chelsea
this time with Frank Lampard.
But
Mount has exposed what Mourinho trained him somewhat while he was in the
academy during Mount's time as a ball boy for a first-team game.
"The
first thing I actually remember was being a ball boy at the games," Mount
told:
"That
was a big thing for me. I was so buzzing about that and you cannot really be
any closer than that! One instant that stands out was beneath Jose Mourinho. If
we were appealing in Champions League games then he would state us to keep hold
of the ball and not throw it back so rapidly!"
Manchester United man's warning for Chelsea
Manchester
United are some way off challenging for the Premier League title this season with
the Red Devils currently sitting in seventh place and ten points behind
Chelsea.
But
United star Marcus Rashford has sent a warning to his side's rivals about the
Red Devils' ambitions for this season.
He
said that while getting a return to Europe's elite race is an importance Rushford has
advised that they are also eyeing silverware with United still combat in the Carabao
Cup after winning against Chelsea and in the Europa League too as they await
next month's FA Cup third-round draw.
I
think it is been 18 months since we won our last trophy so it is been a while.
If we come out of this season in the top four but without a trophy, I would not
be happy he told:
If
we succeed to get specific cups and get ourselves into the highest four then,
of course, it has been a fruitful season.
For
me, it is just about placing indicators down for anything we can do in the upcoming
as we know that this period is not going to variation overnight Ole's not going to get what he needs sudden.
