Premier League: United should not repeat mistakes of the past with Zaha pursuit

Since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down in 2013, Manchester United has constantly been seduced by big-name players who command extravagant transfer fees and exorbitant wages. And there’s been little end return in these investments. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

Angel Di Maria lasted just one season after United paid £59.7million to Real Madrid for the Argentine. As did Radamel Falcao, who arrived at Old Trafford on a loan deal from Monaco which cost the Red Devils £6million plus the striker’s £265,000-a-week wage.
The £80million it cost to bring Paul Pogba back from Juventus has not yet been repaid by the French star. Romelu Lukaku meanwhile moved on to Inter this summer two years after he signed from Everton for £75million. And of course, let’s not forget Alexis Sanchez who the Red Devils are paying £300,000 a week to play for Inter this season.
This summer, however, United finally appeared to realize the error of their ways in the transfer market. Perhaps it was Ole Gunnar who has influence. Or maybe Ed Woodward had been burned once too often. But the club’s strategy seemed to shift.
No more megastars. Instead, the United signed undoubted potential in Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka. Harry Maguire, who admittedly did not come at all cheap at £85million, also arrived from Leicester City.
All three were sensible, well-thought-out transfers. James and Wan-Bissaka filled problem positions. Maguire was the Centre-back to build a defense around. The Manchester club was back on track even if their final destination was well in the distance.
Then came a report in the national newspapers that United was interested in re-signing Wilfried Zaha and that his £70million price tag was not a deterrent. The club and the winger have history. Zaha was Ferguson’s final signing before his retirement but the move didn’t work out and he returned to Crystal Palace in 2014 ready to rebuild his career.
The 27-year-old, to his credit, has done so. He is regarded as one of the best players outside of the Premier League’s traditional top-six clubs and can win matches singlehandedly when in the mood. He was also courted by Arsenal in the summer and has been linked previously with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. So United being linked is certainly believable.
Yet Zaha is a player Manchester United don’t need and their supposed interest makes little sense. The primary reason for this is Marcus Rashford. The England international has often been played through the middle this season but with Anthony Martial back from injury, he is expected to move back out to the left flank.
Solskjær has got Martial to crowbar into the starting XI and it’s very likely he’d be used wide on the left. So, again, no space for Zaha. It’s a position the Palace man has been used in on several occasions this season. Well, at United that role has predominately been occupied by James, who has impressed since his move from Swansea City.

The one forward position that is open at United is the No.10 role. Andreas Pereira has filled it on several occasions this term, while Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata are also options. The Ivory Coast international has always done his best work with the ball at his feet 4.88 dribbles completed per 90 in the Premier League this season can only be bettered by three other attackers.
He needs space to operate in – as shown in the touch map above. Time to collect the ball, get up to speed and run at a defender. In the Centre of the pitch, he will simply not get that and his effectiveness would quickly be blunted.
There is no doubting Zaha’s talent: he has the quality to play for Manchester United. It’s just the club that doesn’t have a clear opening for the winger and, given he’d cost £70million, his signing would be a mistake, especially as there are other areas that need urgent surgery. It’s time United prove they have learned from their past mistakes once and for all.

Premier League: Jose Mourinho predicts where Liverpool FC And Man City will finish

Jose Mourinho is backing Liverpool FC to win the Premier League title this season. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

The Reds were 3-1 winners against Manchester City at Anfield in the top of the table clash on Sunday.
Goals from Fabinho Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane helped Liverpool FC to secure three points against the defending champions.
Jurgen Klopp’s side moved nine points ahead of the Citizens thanks to their comfortable victory. Liverpool FC is eight points ahead of Leicester City and Chelsea FC after both clubs won on Saturday.
The Merseyside outfit is looking to win their first-ever Premier League title after finishing in second place last term.
Three-time Premier League winner Mourinho doesn’t envisage Liverpool FC allowing their lead to slip at the top of the table.
“If you are behindhand in the title competition you have to feel like you can touch them. If you are top of the league with a huge advantage you have to feel like it is not finished,” Mourinho told.
But I am not there I’m here. And here from my position, I think it is done unless something dramatic happens in terms of an injury situation that breaks the team. But I contemplate the team is complete in dilemma. I feel the way they play is adjusted to the potentials of the players.
Manchester City is capable of winning seven, eight are nine matches in a row but I cannot see how Liverpool can lose this advantage of nine points to them.
Liverpool FC will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in their next Premier League fixture before successive home games against Brighton and Everton.

The Reds will take on Leicester City at Anfield in their next big Premier League clash against a potential title rival on Boxing Day at the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool FC has finished in second place on four different occasions in 2002 2009 2014 and 2019.
Gerard Houllier Rafael Benitez, Brendan Rodgers, and Klopp have all led Liverpool FC to runners-up spots.

Premier League: Fan fury over Emery's future Xhaka's hint Mahrez opens up on transfer talk

It has been a tough few weeks for Arsenal and Unai Emery. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

From the angry exchange between Granit Xhaka and the Arsenal supporters during the recent clash with Crystal Palace to the continued speculation over Unai Emery's future following some poor results of late things are far from rosy at the Emirates Stadium.
But there is now a break from the frustrations of the past few weeks as several Arsenal stars head off on international duty with the Gunners not having a game now until they host Southampton on Saturday, November 23.
However, there is still plenty of news surrounding the Gunners and below we taking a look at the latest from north London.
Unai Emery's future
Arsenal fans are far from happy going into the latest international break with the Gunners currently eight points off the top four in the Premier League following the 2-0 defeat against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
But while the supporters have been directing their anger towards Unai Emery the Gunners' head coach has been handed a vote of confidence by the Arsenal hierarchy with Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham finally breaking their silence in a statement on the Spaniard's future.
Within the statement, they make it clear that they firmly believe Emery is the right man for the job adding that they are confident that things will turn around.
However, that has not gone down too well with some Arsenal fans with the hashtag Emery Out trending on a number of occasions on social media already this season.
The board says in the statement that they never take the club's fantastic support for granted and have called for everyone to stick together but it is clear from the reaction of some fans.
Hint on Granit Xhaka's future
Granit Xhaka's future at Arsenal continues to be uncertain following his angry exchange with supporters in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Swiss international has been stripped of the captaincy and has not featured since the episode although he has trained with the first team in recent weeks.

But now he is heading off on international duty, with the midfielder included in Switzerland national squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Georgia and Gibraltar where is expected to play in both games.
He has recently spoken about the situation at Arsenal in an interview where he described how much it had hurt him.
"When my shirt number ignited upon the board of the fourth authorized and then broke bitter joy of their specific followers that hit me very greatly and stirred up," Xhaka told.
It was very painful and frustrating. For me, this reaction is still inconceivable especially in this intensity and how extremely argumentative I was here.
Xhaka has been linked with a move away in January with reports claiming the player is worried his situation at Arsenal could affect his selection for next summer’s European Championship with Switzerland.
Newcastle has been credited with an interest in a loan move while AC Milan is also reportedly interested. The player has been house hunting in Milan in an attempt to seal a move to the Serie A club.
And Xhaka has made no reference to his current situation at Arsenal in a message he has posted to social media ahead of linking up with the Swiss team.
In the post, Xhaka wrote: "Looking forward to the preparation for the next EURO Qualifiers."
Mahrez's transfer admission
Riyad Mahrez has revealed that he was on the verge of joining Arsenal in 2016.
The Manchester City ace was linked with a move to Arsenal after winning the Premier League title with Leicester City but he has now claimed that the Foxes blocked a transfer which he believes it cost him two years of his career.
"After the title, if I'd left for a top team it would not have been the same story," he told:
For me, it is clear that I lost two years at the highest level. I lost two years! Because instead of arriving at City at 27. I could have been there at 24, 25.

Leicester blocked me. They told me: You're not leaving you are not leaving. My agent had vocalized to Arsenal Wenger who really wanted me. It was close all done with Arsenal in 2016. I was really irritated.

Premier League: Manchester City players fuming at Liverpool opener Gundogan

Manchester City players were left fuming in the dressing room after watching replays of Liverpool's controversial opening goal in a 3-1 loss at Anfield on Sunday, midfielder ilkay Gundogan has said. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared to handle the ball inside his own box in the sixth minute but instead of a City penalty the hosts broke and 22 seconds later Fabinho drilled in a spectacular goal from outside the box.
The goal was checked by VAR and allowed to stand as Liverpool went on to clinch the victory and move nine points clear of City in the Premier League title race.
Their sense of criticism would expand when Liverpool went ahead 22 seconds later. Mane’s low cross was not cleared with any conviction by Ilkay Gundogan and, with no City challenges coming, Fabinho took a touch and ripped the sweetest of drives past Claudio Bravo from 25 yards.
Liverpool bowed the secure and their second goal was created by their pillaging full-backs. Alexander-Arnold swapped the play from right to left with a 60-yard permit to Andy Robertson, whose cross invited Mohamed Salah to flash in on Angelino’s blindside.
We saw the happening again in the dressing room then and for me, clearly, it's a penalty but if you ask a Liverpool player they would say, you can give it but it's maybe a 50-50 condition, Gundogan told reporters. It takes a hard attitude to fight counter to that and inappropriately, they scored the second conventional after.
City are aiming to become the first team since Manchester United in 2009 to win three consecutive Premier League titles but now occupy fourth spot in the table.
Last season, City recovered in the second half of the campaign to erase Liverpool's 10-point lead at the top and Gundogan wants the same level of commitment from his team mates. We have to accept it, but there is a long way to go. Last season in January we were rather far behind and able to turn it around Gundogan added.

Jamie Redknapp reveals what could still cost Liverpool the Premier League title after crucial Man City victory

Jamie Redknapp insists crazy injuries could still prevent Liverpool from winning the Premier League despite their crucial victory over Manchester City. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

Jürgen Klopp’s side defeated the defending champions 3-1 at Anfield on Sunday to maintain their unbeaten record and move eight points clear at the top of the table. Goals from Fabinho Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane saw the Reds emerge triumphant despite Bernardo Silva’s late strike and City creating a number of chances.
Former Premier League star Redknapp admits the title is now Liverpool’s to lose but says the Reds could still falter if the squad is hit by a number of injuries.
It is Liverpool’s to lose Redknapp told the Daily Mail. I believed that the previous month after Manchester City misplaced 2-0 at homespun to Wolves and they had it Leicester 2-1 and yesterday’s victory at Anfield only secures my opinions.
Nine points is a big gap. Barring any crazy injuries, Liverpool is well on their way to being crowned champions with Jordan Henderson the man who would lift the trophy come May.
Liverpool captain Henderson provided a superb cross for Mane’s second-half goal and Redknapp hailed the England midfielder for his performance against City. He added. It senses as if the power is with Liverpool and the player I am utmost pleased for is their team leader Jordan Henderson.
The third goal destroyed Sunday’s competition and it was a beautiful cross from the 29-year-old midfielder creating his 250th Premier League presence for the Reds that set it up.
Claudio Bravo didn’t know whether to come or go. In Conclusion City’s stand-in goalkeeper looped up under Henderson’s cross and Mane applied the final touch with his head. Job done, Henderson made that ball look easy and it came two weeks after he scored a vital equalizer in their 2-1 win over Tottenham.

The England midfielder was at all times going to have trouble in winning everyone over because he isn’t Steven Garrard. But Liverpool’s present skipper, who led them to success in the Champions League last season, is performing brightly for his team. He answers every query asked of him. Liverpool faces Crystal Palace following the match break.

Premier League updates: Three Man City talking points from their defeat at Liverpool

Pep Guardiola must channel Anfield anger for Man City to have any chance of catching Liverpool now. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Pep Guardiola has to use this. It's all he can do.
Sky's cameras picked up the Manchester City manager's comments to referee Michael Oliver at the final whistle: Thank you so much, he declared with no shortage of irony.

And while it would be a wild disservice to Liverpool to claim such a vital victory was owed solely to the decision not penalize Trent Alexander-Arnold in the opening minutes, it provides Guardiola and City something to cling to. Look at the cold, hard facts after this 3-1 defeat and City have it all to do. The city's manager will leave Anfield with the belief they have been severely wrong-done.
In truth, Klopp would have had his own complaints had a penalty been awarded, given Bernardo Silva was as guilty of handling during the same incident as Alexander-Arnold. Either way, the correct decision would have been to halt play, rather than allow Liverpool to break up the pitch and score.
Now Guardiola needs to find the way to make the difference between now and the end of the season and instilling a siege mentality is a well-worn tactic that may just be his best approach from here-on in.
Two years of unprecedented dominance has taken its toll on a dressing room that has found the going just that little bit tougher this term. Be it Norwich and Wolves finding ways to win against them or Southampton pushing them to the brink, is beginning to feel like a grind.
But only a fool would write this City team off even from this distance.
They've responded to their previous two defeats this season with five wins on the bounce. Do the same again after this and the table could look very different by the turn of the year.
Guardiola's big transfer mistake
City's grip on their title may well have been lost at Anfield but the tone was set during a summer when Guardiola failed to strengthen in two key areas.
The Catalan's failure to replace the departed Vincent Company still beggar’s belief. And while he insists the champions didn't have the funds to compete with Manchester United for top target Harry Maguire, he still managed to make Joao Cancelo the most expensive right-back in English football.
That decision looks all the more peculiar considering Kyle Walker remains his first choice in that position. Meanwhile, City also opted against bringing in a top-class left-back despite spending the past two seasons with makeshift options in that position.

Angelino returned after City had already decided the Spaniard wasn't up to the required standard after selling him to PSV Eindhoven. It was a measure of Guardiola's ongoing doubts about Mendy and Nicolas Otamendi that neither started such a huge game, with midfielder Fernandinho playing at center back in a game in which City's defensive frailties came to the fore.
Salah is in Guardiola's head
The decision to name Angelino ahead of Benjamin Mendy was a head-scratcher from the moment the team sheets came out. Mendy was outstanding in this same fixture last season and is City's best answer to Mo Salah – the player who consumes Guardiola ahead of these games.
The Egyptians had one of his quietest games when the sides drew 0-0 at Anfield as Mendy's high line forced him to check his own attacking ambitions.

But there was no sign of that as he stole a march on Angelino in the first half to double Liverpool's lead and put the game beyond doubt.

Premier League: Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood offer Man Utd tantalizing glimpse of the future

With an average age of 21, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer released a Manchester United forward line that looks every bit the future of the club. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood excited United into the hit stages of the Europa League but, more importantly, offered an enticing indication.

All pace, movement, danger, and technique are the epitome of the modern-day attack. And though still, raw Greenwood has just turned 18, while the expert of the group, Martial, is still only 23 they could well be the basis on which Solskjaer builds his United uprising.
In contrast to Partizan Belgrade, they clicked in a manner in which United just haven't this term each scoring picture book goals and creating sufficient chances to make a 3-0 score-line even more certain.
He also has Daniel James, who has been one of the highpoints of the season, but there is a balance to this trio that just looks right.
Marcus Rashford, playing off the left, was in his component and the main orchestrator of United's forward play. While he was shamefaced of missing a host of golden opportunities in the first half, it was clear to see just how much more confident he is facing jail.

His quick feet set up Anthony Martial to find the back of the net early on only for the offside flag to be higher. But he showed an accuracy of touch and vision in the 22nd-minute when finding Greenwood on the right-hand side of the box.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer comprehensibly wants to defend the academy graduate but that's three goals in four starts. And such is his perfect balance that he is the most usual option on the right.
Anthony Martial, temporarily, has five in seven, including a completely sublime solo goal to double United's lead in this match. The speed of his footwork saw him dance around Bojan Ostojic, Starhinja Pavlovic and Urosovic inside the box, before flicking his shot past Vladimir Stojkovic with the outside of his right wader.
That carried back memories of that remarkable debut goal against Liverpool in 2015 and stimulus questions as to just how much he would have developed by now if he'd been trusted in the No9 role sooner.
Juan Mata's cross-field pass was moderated into Rashford's path by Ashley Young and the England striker crashed a first time shot into the top corner. It's worth recalling he is still just 22 and even with a wealth of involvement is a work in progress.

On nights like this he establishes exactly why he is considered the future for both club and country and with Martial and Greenwood around him, Manchester United could have a forward line to distress for years to come.

Manchester United manager secret meeting with Premier League officials in desperate bid to fix VAR

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met with Premier League officials on Wednesday to discuss possible perfections to the VAR system. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

The Premier League’s director of football Richard Garlick and head of football relations Simon Morgan moved to Manchester to hear Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's opinions and debate what changes would improve constancy and exactness of conclusions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unable to join when referees chief Mike Riley meets with top-flight managers based in the north of England. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should have little to criticize. To date, United has ducked being on the wrong end of any divisive VAR results.
They were given a penalty in the match against Norwich after the VAR drafts, while Rashford’s goal against the blues was tolerable to stand after VAR measured. It is understood no strong opposition to the way VAR is being used was spoken when southern-based top-flight managers met last week.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp voiced his prevention at VAR after Roberto Firmino had a goal ruled out for offside during his side’s win at Aston Villa on Saturday. Klopp, who has demanded his side have been on the wrong end of several big VAR decisions this term, has called for an explanation about the current use of the system.

Thursday’s meeting is also likely to feature debates over the gradually spiky topic of pitchside screens. Monitors are widely used outside of the Premier League, however, following debates with clubs before the start of the season, officials are yet to use them in any of the 110 top-flight matches so far.
The views of all managers will be processed ahead of any latent VAR policy changes to be measured at the next Premier League shareholders meeting which will take place in London on November 14.

Average Fans will spend £1,888 on watching football this Premier League season

A report has revealed expenditure that Football fans will on usual spend £1,888 each this Premier League season, with the biggest cost increases being merchandise, home tickets, TV subscriptions, and foods. Sports enthusiasts from all over the world can purchase Premier League Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

In the 2019/20 season dedicated fans are predictable to spend more than £23.8m on replica shirts, a 31 percent increase in total spend since season 2014/15. While ticket amounts make up an important amount of this total price, the overall cost of tickets for a loyal fan has increased by only 1 percent since 2014/15.
A sky Sports analyst and Manchester United legend Gary Neville said Football needs to check itself. There are lots of positives about football. The stadiums are better, the quality of play is imaginary, and the atmosphere is far broader, but for me, affordability is something that needs to be addressed.
This report puts out the facts and I hope it will serve as a wake-up call. Football has to stand above other rest businesses. It is more than just a game. It is about public and we need to confirm we are doing all we cannot charge fans out of the game. The research focuses on the dedicated fan of an adult who attends all 19 home games and travels to a minimum of five away games.
Arsenal is the most expensive team to support loyal fans each paying £2,238 per season. Newcastle United are the only club outside of the traditional top six to feature in the six most luxurious clubs to follow. This season Newcastle Utd f1ans will travel 68 percent miles by train and 65 percent miles by car to away matches.
This approach reveals that while dedicated Liverpool fans may spend more contrasted with other fans in the Premier League, they saw good value for money based on a low cost per goal scored and points won, last season.
Of all the clubs, Manchester City fans got the most entertaining for their money, paying £16.90 per goal and £16.30 per point. Huddersfield Town fans got the poorest deal total, spending £96 per point and £70 per goal.
Gary Neville added This isn’t just about money. It is about the family that lives a mile from the club dreaming every weekend that they can go to the game and pay to watch their heroes play.
Iqbal V Gandham, UK managing director at eToro said as a sponsor of six Premier League teams we try to certify we are giving back to the devotees as much as possible. Our Le Tiss Air competition was well received by Southampton supporters and this is just the first of many enterprises we will be carrying out this season to prize loyal fans who invest in what they love.
