The results of the UEFA EURO
2020 draw lead Ukraine to play their group stage matches in Amsterdam and
Bucharest, their Group C rivals the Netherlands, Austria and a play-off winner
D or A.
It is the first time that
Ukraine has directly qualified for a EURO; they did so as co-hosts in 2012 and
beat Slovenia in the play-offs to reach the 2016 event.
Key player: Andriy Yarmolenko
Yarmolenko is the current top
scorer of Ukraine with 37 goals (only Shevchenko, of 48, has more), he is on
fire again after returning from a long-term injury.
The 22-year-old has a tough
competition because Yarmolenko and Marlos can both occupy their privileged
position on the right-wing, but he continues to carve out a niche.

David Alaba's first goal and
an instant effort from Stefan Lainer in the second period allowed Austria to
qualify for Euro Cup 2020 with a 2-1 victory over North Macedonia.
This is a second successive
qualification for Austria and will only be their third participation in the
